New Service!
Recovering from surgery? Wanting to return to the gym but have recurring injuries and need some professional guidance with a physiotherapist who has expertise in injury management?
Starting at the end of January Synergy Physio is pleased to offer one on one therapeutic exercise rehabilitation sessions! These individual exercise sessions will be run by physiotherapist Mr Chris Hapel at Evolve Fitness in Coolum on Thursdays and will provide the opportunity for supervised physiotherapy and exercise intervention in a small personal gym environment. The therapeutic exercise rehabilitation sessions will be suitable for pre and post operative orthopaedic surgery, chronic disease management, postural education, strength and conditioning for all levels.
Chris has worked as a personal trainer, completed his Bachelor of Exercise Science in 2005 and a Masters Degree in Physiotherapy in 2007. Chris has worked extensively with both elite and amateur athletes, pre and post operative Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, Chronic disease including the management of Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and improving general health with fitness programs.
Exercise sessions will be bulk billed for EPC physiotherapy and DVA referrals. Patients will have their initial appointment with Chris in the clinic here at Synergy Physio Peregian Beach for initial assessment to determine suitability and to form an exercise and treatment plan. Subsequent exercise sessions will be arranged with Chris at Coolum. Chris looks forward to guiding you with your exercise goals! For all inquiries please contact our reception on 0754483369.
Returning to work?
Take a few moments at the beginning of your working year to check your work station and optimise your ergonomics to prevent injury. Ensure your keyboard and mouse are in the correct position- you can test this by resting your elbows by your side and holding your forearms at 90 degrees. Your mouse and keyboard should be within easy reach at this distance! Reaching out further than this can contribute to neck, shoulder and upper limb problems. Tuck your chair in close to the desk and adjust your chair height to allow for this 90 degree angle at the elbow. This might mean (for some of us ‘vertically challenged’ people), we then need a foot stool to rest the feet comfortably on the floor.
