Join women’s health physiotherapist Caitlin Pender on our 5 week yoga pregnancy workshop- Birth and Beyond! 

This course package was designed to help women PREVENT problems after giving birth and EDUCATE women on how to help them have a happy and healthy pregnancy as well as offering the chance for calm relaxation and pregnancy yoga.

Whats included? 

  • Prenatal education session each week for 30 mins presented by Caitlin Pender on:
    • Pregnancy: the pelvic floor, how to manage common conditions during pregnancy including pelvic girdle pain, back pain, swelling and vascular problems.
    • Preparing the body for birth
    • Postnatal recovery: optimal recovery from vaginal birth and c-section, tips for lifting and carrying bub, tips for preventing abdominal separation.
  • Guest Lecture Midwife Lecture with Amy Paulinich on optimal foetal positioning and active birthing
  • 5x prenatal yoga classes lead by a physiotherapist and designed to prevent pain and improve function during pregnancy
  • Lifetime access from any device to our online program ‘Birth and Beyond” and equipment for home yoga, meditation and Pilates practice
  • Recorded meditations for relaxation during your pregnancy and to prepare you for birth.

 

FAQ’s

I haven’t done yoga before, are the classes suitable for me?

Our course caters for all levels from complete beginners to advanced.  Run by a physiotherapist these classes are specifically structured for pregnant women and will be tailored to each individual’s needs. You don’t need to have any previous yoga experience to enjoy the classes.

When during my pregnancy should I start? 

You can start this course at any time during your pregnancy. Some women experience morning sickness during the first trimester and may not feel like exercising. Always check in with your body and your baby to see what is right for you. If you have a high risk pregnancy, it is recommended that you check with your GP or Obstetrician prior to commencing this course. If you have a history of miscarriage it is not recommended to start yoga until after 12 weeks. Otherwise It is safe to continue this course right up until your delivery date. If you are still unsure please contact us on 07 5448 3369  for further advice.

Can I attend the classes if I am having a planned caesarean?

Yes, you can attend this course up until your due date.  The classes will help you to enjoy a more comfortable pregnancy and strengthen your body for after the birth. The breathing and relaxation exercises are excellent to help you with any challenges you are facing.

How many people are in the classes?

We have a maximum of 6 people in each course. This allows me to really get to know you and your body to ensure that all exercises are specifically tailored to meet your needs.

Can I claim the course if I have Private Health Insurance?

As all classes are run by an experienced Women’s Health Physiotherapist with a health provider number, you may be able to claim back part of the cost if you have Physiotherapy “Extras” cover and depending on your insurer. This includes women’s health physiotherapy education sessions. A receipt will be provided for you after completion of the course to submit your claim.

What should I bring?

Just yourself! Yoga mats are provided but you are always welcome to bring your own. Equipment for your home yoga practice is included in the cost of the package

What happens if I cannot attend a week?

If you cannot attend one week, you will be given the option of attending the education session in the following block. You will also be provided with resources and handouts to ensure you don’t miss out.
